Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza is Jaafar Jackson’s mother and the former wife of Jermaine Jackson. She also has two children with Jermaine’s brother Randy, placing her at the center of two branches of the Jackson family. Associated Press reporting identifies her as Alejandra Jackson and documents those relationships.
Her own work includes fashion design. In 2014, Reelz described her plans to return to that career while announcing a television project about her household. More recently, her son Jaafar portrayed Michael Jackson in Michael, bringing a family connection to his first film role.
Her relationships with Randy and Jermaine Jackson
Alejandra was in a relationship with Randy Jackson before marrying his older brother Jermaine. PEOPLE states that she and Randy never married. She married Jermaine in 1995; they later divorced.
The family relationships are easiest to understand through their children:
| Children | Parents |
|---|---|
| Genevieve Jackson and Randy Jackson Jr. | Alejandra and Randy Jackson |
| Jaafar Jackson and Jermajesty Jackson | Alejandra and Jermaine Jackson |
Associated Press reporting confirms these connections. Because the four share a mother, they are siblings. Across the two pairs, they are also first cousins because their fathers are brothers.
Alejandra also raised Donte Jackson from the age of two, as Reelz stated in its announcement about the family. That distinction helps explain why coverage describes her household as including five children.
Fashion design and a planned family television series
Reelz’s July 2014 announcement described Alejandra as being from Colombia and returning to fashion design. It said she had partnered with her brother Franklin in Peru and planned to relaunch her fashion line. These were plans described at the time, rather than confirmation of an active business today.
The same announcement introduced Living with the Jacksons, a proposed television project centered on Alejandra and the children she raised. Its premise followed their lives outside the Jackson family estate. At the television critics’ event promoting the project, Associated Press reported that the family had moved away from the home in Encino, California.
The announcement documents her involvement in the project; it should not be confused with proof that the planned episodes aired.
Jaafar’s account of sharing Michael with his mother
Jaafar plays Michael Jackson in the film directed by Antoine Fuqua, as Lionsgate’s official cast list confirms. For Alejandra, that meant watching her son portray his father’s brother.
In an April 2026 conversation with Miles Teller for Interview, Jaafar said he had kept his involvement quiet from his family for a full year. He recalled that his mother visited the set once but did not know what to expect from the finished performance.
“But when my mom saw it on-screen, it blew her away.” — Jaafar Jackson, speaking to Miles Teller in Interview.
His account offers a specific glimpse of Alejandra’s connection to the film: she watched familiar family history become a screen performance by her own son. Her place in that story is personal, while the acting credit belongs to Jaafar.
