LBC, publishing its Wimbledon celebrity roundup on 13 July, described Batlle instead as Bronze’s “Spanish girlfriend.”
This is not a minor semantic difference. Two established British outlets were looking at the same pair at the same event and assigning different relationship labels.
It is therefore difficult to justify treating “girlfriend” as an uncontested, directly confirmed biographical fact solely because other websites repeat it. Public photographs can establish that two people attended an event or travelled together; they cannot independently establish the precise nature of a private relationship.

Their Wimbledon appearance was not their only notable joint appearance that month.
On 19 July 2026, The Guardian published a photograph from the men’s World Cup final in New York/New Jersey showing Bronze and Batlle posing together in a group with Brazilian football great Marta, YouTuber Callum Airey and the tournament mascots.
That gives the Bronze–Batlle association a relatively recent and reliable public reference point in 2026. It still should not be turned into evidence about aspects of their private lives that the photograph does not establish.
Who is Ona Batlle?
Ona Batlle is a Spanish international full-back who came through FC Barcelona’s La Masia system. At the same time, the evidence does not justify erasing the remaining uncertainty. The Standard said in late 2025 that neither player had officially confirmed a romance, and The Independent was still describing Batlle as Bronze’s friend at Wimbledon in July 2026.
For a biography or reference page, “widely reported partner Ona Batlle” is therefore more precise than presenting a formally confirmed relationship as settled fact.
